Anyone who has ever been in Arizona should appreciate the unusual nature of hail this big. Zona frequently gets hailed during some of the monsoon seasons, but this? Read on!http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/local/8_29_02hail.html

Stones up the THREE inches fell in Pima County, Az on Aug 28. NWS reports show that those were the largest hailstones in the country for the date. Frequent reports of quarter and ping-pong ball-size, but three inches? That would take something closer to a baseball and more likely found in Tornado Alley in spring! Go Arizona supercells! lol

I want that creosote bush cologne too! Did you know that we are the only two on LJ to list them on the "Interests" section of our user profile? I feel sorry for all those poor souls who have never smelled the creosote after the rain (it is the BEST smell in the world as far as I'm concerned).

I noticed that about creosote listing! I'm amazed!! And with all the people who live in Arizona and New Mexico who are on LJ!! Go figure lol

I'll take freshly-rained desert creosote over annnny perfume or cologne!! Yes yes yes! mmmmmmmmm

It never occured to me to list creosote, and I like it myself. But then again, it didn't occur to me to list the desert as one of my interests until last week and it's a major one.

I've found that the desert often smells good right before it rains too.
